World’s Best Donuts

A must-stop on Lake Superior when in Grand Marais. World’s Best Donuts has been lovingly making fresh donuts since 1969 every summer. Originally mixed by hand in a plastic bowl by Merieta, this family-owned and operated business continues to bring donut joy to its customers. Enjoy a variety of tasty donuts from chocolate-dipped to coconut-topped with white dipping. Try a cinnamon sugar cake donut, or a Skizzle, a sweet, yeast dough stretched out and deep fried. Pair your donut with a fresh cup of coffee or another hot beverage. Pick up a souvenir like a World’s Best Donuts mug, sew-on patch, or a beanie.

Having sold its first jar of Poorrock Abbey preserves in 1986 from local berries found near the shop, today, The Jampot has added fruitcakes, tasty muffins and cookies, candies, and chocolates all handmade, mixes, and coffees to their menu. Using locally sourced natural ingredients to create all their products is an important step to their delicious offerings. The shop is seasonal and is located near Jacob’s Falls near Eagle River, Michigan. This is an incredible place to visit when touring the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Oh Crepe and Coffee

Oh Crepe and Coffee Sault Ste. Marie Michigan

Is there a better way to start the day than with a crepe and a coffee? Oh Crepe and Coffee are located in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. This is a Twin Soos favourite. Enjoy a freshly made crepe in the atmosphere of a bright, sunny dining area with beautiful views of the Soo Locks. You may even see a freighter locking through this historic waterway. Choose from a sweet-flavoured crepe such as Cheesecake or S’More, or try a breakfast crepe with eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. Savoury crepes include Buffalo Chicken, and you can order Veggie Crepes too. Pair any with your favourite hot or cold caffeinated beverages, tea cooler or lemonade.

Another great bakery in the Keweenaw Peninsula, Roy’s Pasties and Bakery makes homemade pasties, baked goods, soups and sandwiches. This bakery makes for a good lunch stop while riding around Lake Superior. Popular with locals and visitors, the bakery overlooks the Houghton Waterfront. A great lunch stop, we recommend a Traditional pasty and a coffee. Sweet treats we think you should take to go are a fun Cronut (croissant meets a donut), a Danish pastry, or a bar from the day’s selection. Dine indoors or outdoors on the patio to take in the view.

Metropolitan Moose Beanery & Cafe
