Lake Superior Tour
Route 2
- Itinerary Trip Planner
Marquette MI to Copper Harbor MI
You will see some amazing beaches as you follow the shoreline en route to the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula today 350 km (217 mi) to the northwest. A great highlight in this section is the town of Houghton with its slick college-town vibe, it makes a great place for lunch. As soon as you cross the bridge you are essentially on an island also known as the Keweenaw Peninsula.
The Lac La Belle Road twists and winds its way along the shoreline providing spectacular views. Jump back on Highway 41 all the way to Copper Harbor. This “Tail of the Dragon” type of road around Lake Superior is one wicked ride; so hang on. There are several bike-friendly places to stay and eat in both Copper and Eagle Harbor. Be sure to check out the lighthouses while resting your legs.
