Duration: 2 hr 27 min | Distance: 234 km / 145 mi
This section of the route is a spectacular riding experience. The portion that travels through Lake Superior Provincial Park was listed as one of the ‘Top 100 Things to do Before You Die’ by Canada’s National Post newspaper. Be sure to take time to stop at the scenic lookouts and attractions listed below.
Generally, the lookouts are well-signed to give you lots of advanced notice. Once you arrive at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, the Algoma Region’s largest city, has many choices to visit even more interesting attractions. The city has tons of amenities, is incredibly rider-friendly and is a hot spot for Italian food. The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre is a must-do for any motorhead. Here you can get up close and personal with some of this Country’s most iconic aircraft.
The waterfront within the city is also a perfect place to just relax and watch the many lake freighters pass by. St. Joseph Island just south of Sault Ste. Marie is a great option for extending your trip.
